What we can work on
About
Hi, I'm Maria
I'm a licensed clinical psychologist based in Lebanon, and I'm here to help you make a little more sense of yourself, your feelings, and those patterns you keep finding yourself in.
My approach is CBT-focused and evidence-based, but therapy is about more than techniques and worksheets. It's about understanding your experiences, figuring out what works for you, and finding practical ways to move forward, without judgment or pressure to have it all together.
Why do we overthink that one conversation from three years ago?
Why do we keep falling into the same patterns?
Why does setting a boundary feel harder than it should?
More about my approach
I work with adolescents and adults, helping them make sense of what they're going through and find ways to navigate life's ups and downs. I'm a big believer that understanding ourselves can change a lot.
We look at how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours influence one another, and find practical ways to work through challenges. But therapy isn't one-size-fits-all, and neither are people. I want our work to reflect you: your experiences, your needs, and what matters to you.
I aim to make therapy a space where you can show up as you are. We can explore difficult things, question old patterns, celebrate small wins, and sometimes even laugh along the way.
Why people come
So… what brings people to therapy?
You don't need to be at rock bottom to start, or to know exactly what's wrong before you book. Sometimes it's the big things. Sometimes it's the little things that somehow don't feel so little anymore.
You keep finding yourself in the same patterns.
You feel anxious, overwhelmed or drained.
Relationships feel hard.
Your feelings are hard to name.
You're going through a big life change.
You just want to understand yourself better.
And sometimes? You just know something feels off.
You might not have the right words for it yet. That's okay. You don't need a diagnosis, a perfectly organised list of problems, or a five-year plan for personal growth.
Therapy isn't about fixing everything that's "wrong" with you. It's about understanding yourself and finding healthier ways to deal with life's challenges.

Questions
Things you might be wondering about
Starting therapy can come with a lot of questions. Here are a few answers.
How do I know if I need therapy?
You don't have to wait until things become unbearable. You might feel anxious, overwhelmed, stuck in certain patterns, or simply want to understand yourself better. You also don't need to know exactly what's wrong. Sometimes, figuring that out is part of the process.
What happens during the first session?
It's a chance for us to get to know each other. We'll talk about what's been going on, what you'd like help with, and what you hope to get out of therapy. You can ask questions, share what you're comfortable sharing, and go at your own pace. There's no test and no perfect answer.
How long does therapy take?
There's no universal timeline. Some concerns benefit from a focused, short-term approach, while others take more time. We'll review your progress together. The goal isn't to stay in therapy forever, but to build tools you can use beyond our sessions.
How long is each session?
Individual sessions typically last around 45 to 50 minutes. The exact duration is confirmed when you book.
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes, depending on your needs and circumstances. You'll need a private space, a stable internet connection, and a device that lets us talk comfortably.
Where are you located?
I'm based in Lebanon and see clients in person at Elite Clinics in Dbayeh. If you're unsure whether your location or circumstances suit the services offered, feel free to get in touch before booking.
How much do sessions cost?
In-person sessions are $40 and online sessions are $35. If you have questions about payment, it's always okay to ask before your first session.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Life happens! Please let me know as early as possible, ideally at least 24 hours ahead. The full cancellation policy is in the booking section above.
Is everything I share confidential?
Your privacy matters. What you share is treated confidentially, in line with professional and legal requirements. Confidentiality has limits, for example serious concerns about safety or where disclosure is legally required. These are explained as part of informed consent.
